A. As per our class discussion we talked about the many ways students can and should be assessed. With the current set of standardized tests, we are not allowing for adaptability and higher levels of thinking
B. the use of the term assessment 2.o in my opinion means many state leaders have gotten together to revise the state assessment currently being used to include ways to assess critical thinking skills, apply knowledge and synthesize information. Th test are more adaptable for students with special needs.
c. I strongly feel that common not identical standards across all states can be valid, provided the economically challenged fall into a special category. As a nation we should have the same values placed upon our educators.
d. If these assessments stop teachers from having to teach to the test and can alleviate courses such as Pssa prep, students would not have a full schedule and would have the ability to choose Business courses as an elective. I would have to know more about the test to say this conclusively though.

It is very important to set a tone and procedures for the first day of school. The more procedural and involved the students are the less of a chance they have to develop behavioral problems. It is important that students understand what is expected of them and you as the teacher outline the relevance of the subject matter to their lives ( content connect). The classroom rules should be outlined as well. The teacher should immediately start learning the kid's names and their interests. Having a student fill out a "who am i quiz" or do a personality poster are great ways to understand them as a person. Having the students use tent cards on their desks with their names is a great way to learn who is who. The more exciting and interesting you make the material and connect it to real life the more the students will buy into the course. The more prepared you are as a teacher the more creative you can be and utilize time efficiently and effectively. It is also very important to review the whole text book from the beginning not just the first couple chapters. This ensures you know where the text is headed and you can have smooth transitions from subject to subject to tie it all together. As soon as I ever received my text books I outlined the whole thing. Every students also has their own folder where assignments are placed so I didn't have heaping piles of papers on my desk.
